For the currently opened page the browsers will provide our previous and next "location". If a page is using cookies, it is possible that it will follow us as we are browsing trough different pages. Most of the times this feature is used to monitor the habits of the customers (Facebook, Google). However it can be used for bad purposes too. If your are in private/incognito browsing mode, websites won't be able to track you.
Responsive CSS

With a responsive CSS the page will appear properly on every device. It detects the resolution of the screen and displays the page assigned to that specific resolution. The most known version has 3 different sizes, but the best solution is if you make your page suitable for 5 different resolutions. The responsive CSS will provide the limits for the proper display size.

With this tag you can make sure that the devices will not choose disadvantageous display modes.
Redirect mobile devices

When the smartphones started to spread it was a general solution to give the smartphones a different HTML code and a different page. It is a little different from the original page and it opens with smaller page size and reduced functions. The redirection is done based on the user-agent. Right now it is one of Google's policies that every single device should get the same code from the server.

Favicon
